FOUNDATION Who is Autistic Children’s Welfare Foundation? Founded in 2007, the Autistic Children’s Welfare Foundation is a non profit and non political organization run by parents of autistic children. Its mission areas include Awareness & Advocacy, Education, Support, Care, Service and Research.   Aim of the Foundation To assist autistic children to have a normal life through appropriate intervention, training and rehabilitation.   Objectives of the Foundation •  Arrange appropriate intervention and training. (Nationwide network) •  Arrange short and long term training for parents and trainers respectively. •  Arrange workshop, seminar, symposium  for sharing knowledge and create social awareness. •  Arrange residential training. •  Arrange short package training for the parents coming from distant localities. •  Establish hospital to work with autistic and other children. •  Assist in rehabilitation of autistic adults suitable to their skill.   Present Activities of the Foundation •   Foundation has two Branches. •   Regular intervention by a team of about 50 teachers/trainers. •   Provides diagnosis, assessment and evaluation. •   Counseling parents/relatives and care givers. •   Provide structured home program. •   Periodical review. What the Foundation Intents to Be ? Develop as nationwide grassroots autism organization •Training Centre to train trainers, parents, Care givers etc. •Hospital to treat persons affected by ASD. •Residential Training Centre. •Rehabilitation with Art / Culture / Sports / Computer / Bakery / Boutique / Embroidery/ Nursery/ Shop Management etc. CHALLENGES OF THE FOUNDATION •   Social awareness. •   Professionals. •   Training materials. •   Can never reach ‘break even point’. •   Developing own infrastructure.   one : one intervention (One teacher for one trainee)
